Stanground Academy

Culture Day

🌍 Join us for a vibrant celebration! 🎉

🗓 Mark your calendars for Friday 22 September, 2023, as Stanground Academy proudly presents our first-ever whole-school Culture Day! 🌟 It's a day dedicated to embracing and celebrating the rich tapestry of nationalities and cultures that make up our academy community.

👩‍🎓 This student-led initiative has been a labour of love, with our incredible Year 10 and Year 13 students working tirelessly over the past few months to turn their dream of celebrating our academy's diversity into a reality.

🎉 Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of cultural activities, both in their lessons and during social times.

👕 As part of the festivities, we invite all students and staff to participate in a special non-uniform day. Let's showcase the beauty of our many different cultures by wearing:

  • Traditional clothing from your country/heritage, especially celebratory attire suitable for a day of learning.
  • One or two items representing your culture/country, such as jewellery, kilts, headscarves, wraps, dashiki tailored shirts, national sports tops, or symbols like daffodils or flags.

Participation is entirely optional, and those who prefer to wear their regular school uniform are welcome to do so. There's no charge for this non-uniform day.

🌎 We aim to decorate our school with flags from as many different countries as possible. While we've already acquired several, if you're willing to lend us a flag for the day, please reach out via email to rburney@stangroundacademy.org to make arrangements. Be sure to label any items you lend for safe return after the event.

We're eagerly looking forward to our Culture Day, a unique opportunity to celebrate the diverse tapestry that forms the heart of our Academy community. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. 🌈🌏
